Ciurana, the Path, 1917 the Sketch
This painting was by Joan Miro (1893-1983) was a Spanish painter, sculptor & ceramicist.
He's known for drawing Surrealism, Dada, Personal & Experimental.
The picture above is one his paintings called Ciurana, The Path. He drew it back 1917.
I picked this picture (posted above) back when I was in highschool & was to paint it using oil painting, but I never had the opportunity to do so. I had only sketched it but never once even colored.
Few days ago, I have found the canvas I sketched on & the original picture.

So Nyo Shi Dae-Sunny
So Nyo Shi Dae (also known as Girls' Generation) is a South Korean girl group that debuted in 2007 with 9 members.
This week they are making their comeback with their 3rd mini album "Hoot" (1st mini album is "Gee" early 2009, following with their 2nd mini album "Genie").
Their concept/theme is like James Bond 007 movies where they where colorful tight clothing & holding small guns. Kind of like being a 'Bond Girl'.
My favorite member is Sunny (real name Lee SunKu) so I decided to draw her.

Spirit Day-Oct 20th
For the past few months (actually it's been happening for a very long time ago), teenagers in the U.S. have been committing suicide because they're bullied at school for being LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual).
That is why, every Oct 20th, it will be Spirit Day (when everyone will wear purple, like pink for breast cancer), honoring the young ones who died & work hard not to let more kids die just because they're different (physically & emotionally).
Spirit Day is everyday. These kids are threatened and hurt all the time for their difference & that is why we must encourage them and do our best everyday.
These kids are too young to die. They are human beings just like us. They deserve to live for themselves, their families & their futures. They go so much to offer life & vice versa.
It is very important to open our minds & hearts, accept & love them for who they are.
---------------
This artwork I drew to honor Spirit Day. I used the color purple which became a symbolism for Spirit Day. Since it's fall & slowly getting into winter, I drew myself wearing warm clothing to spread the warmth & love to everyone. My stretched out arms to show acceptance.
I hope everyone won't be judgmental about this & just at least respect them that this is who they are. You wouldn't like it if someone dropped a bad comment about you just because you're different from them.

New Original Character...Maybe
I find her pretty cute but I'm not so sure~
My inspiration comes from the Japanese comic book (Manga) "Shougo Chara!" There's a character named Rima who has a cold exterior but really sweet & kind & loves comedy~ I wanted to show the
same personality to this character but I guess it didn't work out?
I'm not sure :)

OC (Original Character)-Kim Minji The Songstress
This is Kim Minji. She's a middle school (7th grader) student who dreams of becoming a singer.
Dark mysterious creatures start appearing in her city invading people's hearts and fills it with depression. No one realizes what is going on except Minji. A shooting star, which turns out to be a pink orb, comes to Minji and tells her that these creatures are the inner darkness of humans that can live in people's hearts forever unless someone lightens their hearts. The pink orb transforms into a staff which Minji can sing through. That's when Minji thought eventhough no one would know it's her, she can still sing and bring happiness to people's heart.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I spent years drawing and creating characters but Minji is very special to me.
I drew her last month but did not complete her until September 1st because I kept going back and forth on her trying to decide what colors suit her, if she should be a super hero or an ordinary girl and such.
As you may have noticed, her name is not English. It's Korean. Ever since I started working on her, the name has been stuck in my head and I just think it suits her.
Her weapon is a staff that has a top of a microphone where when she sings her voice turns the darkness into light and makes people happy.

"Just Milk"
This is a project I've done when I was a student in college. The teacher has given us a choice of either packaging milk or spices for a gourmet store that is recyclable. I chose packaging milk as a set and individuals.
Packaging milk didn't come all so easy for me for one reason: it was targeted for teenage boys.
I don't have brothers so I didn't know what do boys look at when they go shopping. So I had to research about boys interest and what is visually appealing to them.
Usually, milks are packaged in plastic or glass bottles. But I chose cans instead to be unique and different.
I got a B+ for it.
